So i have this card, I dont get hi-res and Q/E , I get res 1280x1024 only, I have installed NVEnabler. I tried to use EFI-Strings (vga-dvi , dvi-vga setting) available in iAtkos S3 installer, but both give kernel panic. I can get higher resolutions in NVEnabler but no Q/E which i need urgently.

I have just upgraded to 10.6.4 too from 10.6.3 with no issues and got the graphics update from SoftwareUpdater. Still no Q/E.

I just saw this post > http://efixusers.com/showpost.php?p=3810&postcount=4 , How do i install this instructions, i dont know where do the XML file goes?

I have OSX86tools but it gives me weird error.

Hey,

Here's a DSDT for the GA-G33M-DS2R mATX board.

Followed AsereBLN's instructions and then copy pasted
the HDEF section from another board that I unfortunately forgot the author of.

Everything works fine, 64-bit from what I can tell, running AsereBLN 1.19. Not sure about sleep, but mine is always running so haven't been an issue for me.

Also, connected the internal SPDIF header to my Nvida Gainward 9500 which now generates a full HDMI stream incl Audio (w/o HDALegacy Kext) to my Plasma.

If you find any useful tweaks please update this thread.

Cheers!

Hopefully I'm posting on a board that can give me a hand with this.
I was borrowing this computer from a friend of mine and I may have destroyed his system. So heres what happened. Everything was working fine though I was trying to install a driver for a PS/2 keyboard. One step of the installation led me to disable the Legacy USB storage detection in the bios menu. Upon rebooting, the computer would bypass the EFIX module and boot directly to the hard drive, thus crashing upon boot-up. I went into the bios menu and turned it back on but continued to have the same problem. I then discovered the EFIXusa guide to setting up the bios and was able to get the EFIX module to load and get back to the graphical icon display which consisted of 3 cylinders with apples on them and a dvd icon. The apple icon on the far left was the only option that would attempt to load, it would however hang with a caution sign above it. I assumed the other two apple cylinders are from previous unsuccessful attempts my friend had made in installing leopard. The other two icons simply hang if one tries to select them. It was suggested by my friend that I should try to repair permissions and if need be, reinstall leopard. I used the installation dvd and chose the DVD icon from the EFIX graphical display to discover that the internal hard drives aren't being recognized when the leopard installer tries to determine a start up volume. There's just nothing there. The only thing I can think of worth noting is that before this problem I had a screen that said "Press any key to continue" I have not seen that screen since I've had this problem. Any tips on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone!

I'm hoping to build a OSX/Win7 system in the coming months and need some basic direction. Here's my situation - I'm a longtime windows junkie, and know the ins/outs of that OS really well, I'm also almost finished with my Bachelor of Science in graphic design. In other words, I'll have to have OSX pretty soon. I've got the money to buildl just about any pc I'd want, but I don't have the cash for a high-end mac and refuse to pay apple's ridiculous prices for lowend hardware. I want my money's worth for the performance I'll get from the setup.

I currently have a system I built around the idea of using ASEM EFI-X dongle. Just after building the system though, I learned that ASEM was a huge scam and I'm definitely not interested in supporting them or their methods of scalping open/community-made drivers for profit.

My current system:
i7 920
Gigabyte X58-UD5
6gb ddr3
Radeon 5850
Geforce 250 GTS
2 HDDs - plan to buy another to install osx, have to buy a larger case first

Also at my disposal - Radeon 4870, Radeon 3870

Using what I have, what would be the easiest route to get a (hopefully) fully-functioning 10.6x install? I've been working with macs for a while but don't know really anything when it comes to messing with kexts or going into the OS via command line. I've been searching the internet for some time looking for info while trying to put off doing this, mostly because the idea of botching an OSX install or screwing up my win7 scares the **** out of me.

All of the guides I've seen so far explaining how to do win7/OSX dual boot seem to assume you already have a lot of background with editing/installing kexts and using the associated programs (I have neither). So I've come to the pros for some help :D

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and have done my searching before posting and have seen no one come across this issue, that i can find.

So far i have been able to get every device working in my New Build but i am experiencing one issue that i cannot seem to resolve. I have a pair of on board Gigabit RTL-8111E Network adaptors that i have gotten running 64bit mode using SnowR1000.app which was written as working in a few forums.

But now that they are detected I am seeing large packet loss while pushing traffic, pinging is normal with no traffic going through either Lan Card. I installed a cheap Intellinet with a RTL8139 Chip and it experiences no issues of the sort it works perfect, same cable LAN port router etc .... Network is fine, downloading Cinebench right now and pinging no losses off the cheap card.

Anyone have any thoughts on what the issue maybe or has anyone have some updated LAN kext for the X58A-UD5 Rev 2.0

Thanks

Dave

Its an Award Bios and most likely a Gigabyte MB since it very close to the DSDT that AserBLN Examples show but I could be wrong?

DSDT extracted in Ubuntu Live CD v9.04 and from OSX Leopard 10.5.8 with no dsdt override with the same results.

Any Clues as to why the address is all zero? Normally I see either 410, 800, 1000 etc etc.

Processor (\_PR.CPU0, 0x00, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}
Processor (\_PR.CPU3, 0x03, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}

I attached my DSDT which I did the mods for HPET, TMR, RTC. Still needs DTGP and some other tweaks like the shutdown _PTS etc tweaks.

Not sure how the final script for shutdown should be?
