Bomtnguyen,
I tried both of the UD7 and UD5 on my X58A-UD3R, but sound still does not work. Could you please post correct files for this motherboard?

Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy -

I'm not sure which sound chip is used on the X58A-UD3R. You would expect that Gigabyte uses the same sound chip on the same board family, but in several cases, this isn't true. You might have to do a bit of digging to find out exactly.

Try this resource: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=140941

Hope that helps!

/ Tuan

Hi tom613 -

Can you provide me more details about how you have your system configured and what files did you use exactly?

- What BIOS rivision?
- Are you using all of the files I supplied?
- What Chameleon/PCEFI release?
- Other details?

/ Tuan

Hi guys,

Check out this USB stick image also, it doesn't require you to install the RealtekR1000SL.kext in /S/L/E.

Hi Tuan,

Thanks for helping us out here.
I'm keeping a monologue here: http://efixusers.com/showthread.php?t=690
everything's fine except my two 8800 nVidia which did work together in my old system...I can't get them to work with EFIStudio or with gfx -i -o infile.xml outfile.hex

Also I noticed after reboot the sound output device always sets itself back to headphones and not internal speakers....any suggestion?

This seems great. And great initiative too! Tried it briefly today. Haven't been able to update bios yet but will do as soon as I figure out how to install it from q-flash.
Anyhow, is there a way to change the Platform UUID so it matches my old boot stick? Got several AU plug-ins that seems to be tied to the old number.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jens

Can anyone point me to a working DSDT.aml file for F4 BIOS? (if it's been done at all yet...)

In Cybex earlier post just a few posts up you'll find this
http://www.kexts.com/view/216-gigaby...d7_(v1.2).html

Mount the image and there you'll find the dsdt in the extra folder.

Ok, great!!! Will try it tomorrow!
Any idea how to set the speakers to stay on internal speakers?

[EDIT:] it's working. I loaded the new Booter from AsereBLN on to my MacOSX system drive and update BIOS, adapted the boot.plist file and everything's almost fine. Two things still lagging: the computer doesn't shutdown fully (the fans are still spinning) and I always have to reselect "internal speaker" after each reboot.

Hi,

I was wondering if these files would work for the Gigabyte GA-EX58A-UD5?

Thanks
